8 Work From Home Essentials You Need
Now that we all felt the joy and freedom of working from home, we don’t blame you if you don’t want to go back to your office. The way things are going right now, remote working is the future for many industries.
So how about improving your WFH experience with these gadgets and accessories? Because sometimes, we just need that one thing to help us focus more.
We looked everywhere on the Internet (plus our personal experience, of course) for all the knickknacks that can make your WFM set-up more practical, comfortable, and productive. Here are eight of our favorite work from home essentials:
1. Ofix Deluxe M18 (Ergonomic Office Chair)
Sitting for eight hours straight, five days a week is obviously not doing any favors to our bodies. That’s why if you’re looking at a long-term WFM situation, invest in an ergonomic chair that can lessen the impact of sitting still for hours.
The Ofix Deluxe M18 is a great product to start. Ergonomic chairs can get widely expensive, especially when catering to specific body needs but Ofix is a trusted brand for quality office chairs without getting too pricey. This all-mesh model is excellent to prevent uncomfortable warmth while the headrest, lumbar support, and backrest are fully adjustable.
2. Aofeis E8 All-in-One Standing Desk with Drawer (Electric Standing Desk)
Not everyone actually needs a fully-automated standing desk but if you want to experience the height of comfort and flexibility, we say, why not?
The Aofeis E8 All-in-One Standing Desk is a delight to have. With sufficient table space and a non-bulky design, this can pass off as your normal office desk. It’s fully adjustable up to almost four feet which is a perfect desk height when standing.
This desk also comes with four height presets that you can program, along with three USB charging ports (types A and C). There’s even a child lock to avoid accidental adjustments.
3. Vention USB Hub for PC and Laptop (Multiple USB Splitter)
A lot of laptops lately turned minimalistic when it comes to their USB ports. While it looks sleeker and less bulky, accessibility is now a problem especially when you’re connecting a lot of things to your device.
Having a USB hub is a cheap solution to expand your device’s connection ports. Now you don’t have to unplug your wireless mouse every time you insert a flash drive.
4. Samsung Curved LC24F390FHE (External Monitor)
The peak of productivity is using multiple monitors.
Samsung is always on-point when it comes to its curved monitors. This particular model is a 23.5-inch curved panel with an aspect ratio of 16:9. Curved monitors are great for keeping yourself focused on your work because your screen fills up your peripheral view, avoiding any distractions.
Curved monitors also put less strain on your eyes compared to the traditional flat monitors because it provides better viewing angles. For someone who stares at a screen for most of the day, then this is a good investment to have.
5. Logitech K580 Multi-Device Keyboard (Wireless Keyboard)
Perhaps one of the fan favorites for wireless keyboards, the Logitech K580 is the perfect work-from-home keyboard.
The low-profile keys look and type amazing. It’s surprisingly light despite being a full-sized keyboard that you can bring it anywhere (to the bed for example, when you need a quick nap but still on alert for your emails). There’s also a slot at the top to dock your phone.
Another thing that we love about this keyboard is how easy it is to switch to different devices. Just pair it once and instantly switch from your PC, phone, or tablet by just pressing the dedicated hotkey.
6. HP S1000 PLUS Silent Wireless Mouse
HP is always the dedicated office brand for many things and good reasons.
The HP S1000 PLUS is an amazing all-around wireless mouse that won’t break the bank. From scrolling through reports to taking it to game after-office hours, this mouse will not disappoint. Plus, it’s a silent mouse so the people on your Zoom meeting won’t hear you clicking every time.
7. Sony WH-1000XM4 (Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones)
The headphones that everyone on TikTok raves about, Sony WH-1000XM4 is a game-changer for working at home.
Tune out every noise and distraction with Sony’s “intelligent and intuitive” noise cancellation. Your neighbor’s dog (or chicken) won’t be disturbing you from work. Aside from simply blocking any noise, it also has adaptive sound control to adjust ambient sound depending on your location and behavior. That way, you’re not going to get into an accident when walking around using these.
It uses a Bluetooth connection to keep your workplace wire-free but still allows the option for corded listening. For videoconferencing, the microphone quality is just as great. It’s an expensive investment for sure, but the relief and comfort that it gives you are worth it.
8. Xiaomi Mi WiFi Range Pro (WiFi Extender)
Is your workstation the only place in your house that can’t be reached with your WiFi router? Before you move your whole desk, maybe consider placing a WiFi extender instead.
The Xiaomi Mi WiFi Range Extender Pro works great in removing dead spots in your house and can even increase your internet speed up to 300 Mbps. Connecting it is simple and you don’t need any permission from your internet provider. Just place the device near your router to connect, wait for the light to flash, then place it strategically in your house.
The WiFi extender can connect up to 16 devices at once. It also offers your standard WiFi protection (WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK encryption) to keep unwanted devices from connecting to your internet.
The device itself is also inconspicuous. It’s small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. For the power source, the device already has the prongs at the back so you can directly insert it into an outlet.
